We are committed to investing in development and growing our professionals. Apex is seeking a Senior Project Manager to be based in Pleasant Hill or Truckee, CA.

Our Pleasant Hill Practice is a multidisciplinary team of project managers, scientists, geologists, and engineers who collaborate on a wide variety of project types and environmental contaminants. Your Responsibilities as a Senior Project Manager

• Serve as senior technical lead on a cumulative project total of $2M to $3M annually.
• Contribute to successful business development of new clients and projects at greater than $500K annually.
• Write and review technical reports and proposals.
• Assist with project management activities.
• Grow an existing bustling practice in one of the following areas: brownfields redevelopment, groundwater/soil characterization and remediation, landfill engineering, or water resources.
• Augment a busy established, successful practice.
• Identify and develop successful client relationships and new business development opportunities with public and private clients on local, regional or national basis; business development of $400,000 annual revenue.
• Mentor and train scientific staff and ensure quality work product.
• Actively develop your own career growth.

What we're looking for

• BS in Environmental Science or related field
• Minimum 8 years of experience with environmental/remediation services, including technical writing, technical oversight, project management, business development, and staff management
• Experience with oil & gas, manufacturing industries, utilities, landfills, and chlorinated solvent sites highly desired; Potentially Responsible Parties (PRP) groups, municipalities (preferred)
• Proven track record in business development and project management
• Proven track record of mentoring and developing staff (preferred)
• Strong technical writing skills, the ability to multi-task, safety awareness, and a good record of safe work practices
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
• Valid driver's license and personal vehicle required
• Strong communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
• Experience with Deltek Vision is preferred

Annual Expected Pay Range: $100,000 — $140,000 USD
