Overview

Director, Corporate Functions and Marketing Expense Planning at Visa. This role is part of the Planning Center of Excellence (COE) and FP&A coverage for corporate functions and marketing partners. The Finance Velocity Office accelerates Visa's transformation of finance to a world-class function, focusing on speed, strategy, and leadership principles.

Reporting to the Head of Expenses COE (Sr. Director), this position enables and supports corporate function and marketing business partners through comprehensive financial planning and analysis (FP&A) and oversees routine FP&A activities including financial analysis, monthly reporting, and baseline planning.

Responsibilities

  • Corporate Functions and Marketing FP&A: standardize central models (e.g., mobility models), manage Operating Expense baseline for Corporate Functions and Marketing, perform first-level variance analysis, monthly reporting, and baseline planning for all MYPs. Drive standardization of the budgeting approach and generate Baseline Spend guidance (e.g., T&E growth, efficiency targets). Seed baseline forecasts and detail based on roll-forward of existing contracted/obligated expenses. Manage global standardized D&A forecasting processes.
  • Financial Insights and Reporting: coordinate with the Reporting Shared Service Center (SSC) to prepare routine and ad-hoc reports; provide actionable insights and strategic recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: work with various departments to optimize budget allocations and ensure alignment with business objectives; communicate complex financial information clearly to diverse stakeholders.
  • Adaptive Planning: adjust expense planning strategies in response to business and market changes, maintaining high performance and resilience.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

10+ years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree, or 8+ years with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters/MBA/JD/MD), or 3+ years with a PhD.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12+ years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8–10 years with an Advanced Degree; 6+ years with a PhD.
  • 8–10 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in a corporate or matrixed environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and software (Excel, SAP, Oracle).
  • Deep understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and expense management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to present complex financial information clearly.
  • Ability to align expense planning with business objectives and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Strong project management skills; ability to oversee multiple initiatives.
  • Experience supporting multiple corporate functions (Legal, HR, Risk, Corporate Services) in a strategic finance capacity.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA or CFA.
  • Experience in the financial services industry and knowledge of industry trends.
  • Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing global teams.
  • Familiarity with advanced forecasting and statistical modeling for baseline expense planning.
  • Experience implementing or optimizing FP&A systems and processes.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with senior leadership across functions and regions.

Additional Information

  • Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
  • Travel Requirements: 5–10% of the time.

U.S. applicants: estimated salary range for new hires is 136,300 to 247,600 USD per year, may include sales incentive, bonus and equity; comprehensive benefits package may apply.
