Overview

TB ACADEMIC/VOCATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAM DIRECTOR at MINACT, Inc. (role title appears as provided). The position directs and administers the Career Services Program and leads the program's staff and activities in alignment with organizational goals.

Major duties and responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, directs and administers the Career Services Program.
  • Provides supervision, training, assessment, and leadership for assigned staff.
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Establishes the Career Services Program's mission and strategic plan, objectives, goals; evaluates program effectiveness.
  • Oversees the introductory phase in the program for new arrivals.
  • Acts as Center Director in the absence of the Center Director.
  • Acts as trusted advisor to the Center Director and is a member of the senior leadership team.
  • Plans, organizes and controls the use of overtime and on-call staff to ensure compliance with Center and ETR policy and procedures.
  • Demonstrates ability to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, assign accountability and implement recommendations.
  • Demonstrates ability to apply principles of conflict resolution to resolve interpersonal problems that arise.
  • Strong analytical skills in evaluation of academic and vocational programs, policies, operations and systems.
  • Working knowledge of academic and vocational education programs, policies and practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of budget preparation and administration.
  • Working knowledge of organization administration and personnel management.
  • Oversees the Outreach and Admissions department.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of management practices and principles; proven ability to lead and support teams.
  • Working knowledge of Job Corps administration or a similar program.
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding goals and objectives.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of effective instructional strategies, classroom management and content area.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions through analysis, experience and judgment.
  • Ability to balance program delivery with budget realities.
  • Capacity to set and enforce accountability.
  • Proficient in computer software (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, social services or related field.
  • Three years of related experience; at least one year in a management capacity.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
