  2025-09-06     Level 3 Communications     San Francisco,CA
Description:

Overview

Level is seeking a Director of Project Management to join our team and support a key consumer electronics client. The role acts as a strategic partner between clients and agency teams and serves as the delivery lead for a portfolio of high-impact retail merchandising projects, ensuring merchandising strategies align with brand objectives and are implemented across multiple product categories and retail environments.

You will oversee all aspects of delivery for a program of significant scale and complexity, holding the team to delivery expectations while collaborating with client stakeholders and executive sponsors to ensure brand and delivery standards are met. You will drive client confidence by ensuring the program runs efficiently, maintaining high levels of consistency and quality in project performance and execution, and continuously identifying ways to introduce innovation, optimize processes, and improve workflow.

In partnership with cross-functional agency teams including creative, production, QA, and strategy, you will lead a geographically distributed project management team to manage the high-volume creation, review, production, and delivery of data and creative assets to ensure on-time and accurate deliverables.

The ideal candidate will have a background in advertising, with extensive experience leading high-volume creative production at scale, and familiarity with retail merchandising, in-store marketing, or field marketing; experience delivering store planograms, schematics, renderings, layouts, floorplans, and related deliverables; and the ability to understand and implement product strategy for retail environments.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a hybrid role based out of our San Francisco office and will require onsite engagement an average of 3 days per week. Local Bay Area candidates (including San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, and surrounding areas) who are willing to commit to a hybrid schedule are preferred. Relocation consideration may be given for candidates living in other markets.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of project delivery to ensure planograms are accurately implemented and maintained, delivered on time for launches or deadlines, and exceed client expectations.
  • Independently lead a large portfolio of concurrent retail merchandising projects and understand the strategic nuances of each product and program.
  • Develop, iterate, and distribute retail store planograms at large scale volumes with a strong focus on product-driven updates.
  • Produce detailed schematics that determine where and how products should be displayed on tables, shelves and fixtures.
  • Develop comprehensive program plans, consider complex dependencies, visualize roadmaps, and align resources with project requirements.
  • Understand client strategies, drive scope prioritization, and respond with flexibility and momentum.
  • Define, document, and optimize processes to drive efficiencies; adopt automation and tools to streamline workflows.
  • Anticipate and communicate program risks and proactively offer solutions to mitigate challenges.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of project management experience in an advertising agency environment, overseeing high-volume delivery of creative assets within a defined product lifecycle.
  • Experience coaching geographically distributed project management teams.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage, lead, and influence clients, stakeholders, and global teams.
  • Experience using complex, specialized project and workflow management tools.
  • Experience developing and managing creative project scopes and delivery timelines, including ongoing workflow reviews to identify and resolve issues.
  • Experience in the consumer electronics industry is a plus.
  • Strong preference for candidates with prior experience in retail planning & merchandising, including familiarity with customer experience impacts on space planning, business drivers for merchandising teams, and large production teams using modeling and 2D/3D software to develop retail floor/space diagrams, layouts, and product icons. Familiarity with quality assurance expectations to meet exacting specifications is also desired.
