Head of Product Design (Hybrid) at Homebase. Key responsibilities

• Develop and articulate a clear vision and strategy for the design function, integrating advanced AI technologies to shape the future of UX/UI design.
• Establish and promote a strong, unified design philosophy in a product that touches millions of people every day.
• Actively lead and inspire the design team of 13, fostering a culture of creativity and innovation within Homebase.
• Oversee the integration of AI tools and methodologies into the design process, setting new standards in how we create and enhance user experiences.
• Influence product strategy and direction by collaborating with cross-functional leadership, embodying our principle of Move Fast, Learn Fast.
• Craft holistic design solutions that push the envelope on functionality, aesthetics, and user interaction for SMB-focused products.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership in a design role within organizations recognized for exemplary design, preferably consumer-facing, that align with the SMB market.
• Demonstrable experience in elevating visual design standards, with the ability to mentor and enhance a team's capabilities in this area.
• Robust commercial acumen paired with an artistic flair—capable of marrying creative design with strategic business outcomes.
• Forward-thinking approach to the impact of AI on design, coupled with practical experience in implementing modern design tools and principles.
• Excellent strategic vision for the design department, including team structure, candidate profile developments, and integration of AI capabilities.
• Experience in a high-paced technology-driven company; experience at AI-first organizations is a plus.
