Senior Director of Corporate Security

Our customer requires a Senior Director of Corporate Security to join their leadership team and define projects, programs and processes that will shape the nature of their corporate security organization. The Senior Director will report to the Chief Financial Officer as they seek to establish the infrastructure, expertise and operational excellence of a world-class Global Security program. The Senior Director will be the most senior business partner for the company.
The Senior Director is responsible for providing leadership, oversight and ownership on all current and future strategic planning and operations. They are also responsible for imagining and collaborating with leadership to create a security team that substantively and holistically contributes to future growth in the organization. The Senior Director will provide the underpinning for all security programming including prevention of insider threat events, workplace violence issues, compliance, policy or conduct events. As the primary driver of the security program, the Senior Director supports the activities of Business Continuity, Resilience, Investigations, Operations, Intelligence and Physical and Technical Security.
The Senior Director will create a framework for and maintain the organization's strategic alignment and performance standards for the security team. They will lead enterprise efforts to ensure that threats are well identified before they can impact on customer business processes, IP, employee safety or the reputation of the brand. They will create, lead and grow a robust intelligence capacity that is to work well independently, but also in collaboration with global security, investigations, external law enforcement and external intelligence organizations. They will also create an overall strategy for a protective intelligence capability that meets the needs of executives and assist protection teams as they implement operational strategies in line with intelligence recommendations.
The Senior Director plays a key role in ensuring a safe and secure work environment for the client and is a key resource supporting the executive team. The Senior Director works closely with the IP Team to develop and refine metrics for measuring and validating performance, and to develop and maintain relationships with HR, Legal, Global Investigations and other enterprise resources.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive the vision and implementation of the customer's security organization. Build effective corporate security infrastructure, teams, and processes that support efficiency, precision, and ease of business while maintaining a best in class security program.
Create a small, efficient team that is dedicated to complete accountability enabling global security to respond seamlessly to mitigate risks and threats to business operations or the safety of the customer's employees, customers and guests.
Provide insight, interpretation, and mentorship on security topics that enable executives and leadership to make great business decisions that positively impact the brand, productivity and vision of the company while securing people, property and intellectual property.
Communicate with key partners in Business Resilience, Disaster Recovery, Security Operations and more, including briefings on identified risks and delivery of custom forward-looking global resilience risk assessments on an as-needed basis.
Assist leadership as they build and grow a robust security capacity with the use of third party vendors and sourced platforms such as Ontic, Dataminr, etc. Align the organizations work of all security service areas with this capacity. The Senior Director will be solely responsible for the “tools and tech” approach of the organization.
Leverage and prioritize multiple third-party partners, a critical function of this role, including vendor management and familiarity with RFP or RFI processes and successful award for work. Lead the creation of a standards based management program for vendors that clearly defines and enforces service level agreements, ensuring high quality performance.
Possess highly developed written and verbal communication skills, clear and precise writing ability, and effective interpersonal skills.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree in Criminal Justice or a related field of study including but not limited to Intelligence Studies, Journalism, Security Management, or International Relations
At least ten years of experience in physical and corporate security. Experience articulating and driving complex security initiatives in a fast changing environment and building the confidence in corporate security services at the leadership level.
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook).
Experience overseeing access control, surveillance systems, and travel and event security, as well as drafting security protocols, managing vendor partnerships, and maintaining incident tracking systems.
Proven experience in risk assessment, crisis management, and security technology implementation.
Strong knowledge of physical security systems, executive protection protocols, and threat assessment methodologies.
Experience using Excel to manipulate data to present metrics and visualization products (graphs, charts, metrics reports, etc.).
Experience implementing change management processes that present clear, concise, logic-based conclusions to support and inform the executive decision-making process.
Possess proficient written and verbal communication skills, clear and precise writing skills, effective interpersonal skills, acute attention to detail, and strong work ethic.
Ability to work fast-paced environment, both independently and in a small team; capable of leveraging teams for maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
Willing to learn new methods to seemingly familiar problems/situations, and help implement new ideas to drive the program forward.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
CPP, PSP, PMP or similar certification
Strong working knowledge of physical security systems and processes
Expertise in workplace incident management and investigations
Crisis Management expertise
Experience with emerging security technologies
Expertise in Contract Security management
Experience with security design and corporate site launches
Experience in providing corporate security consulting specifically in non- industrial environments
Policy creation and maintenance experience
Executive level briefing skills
Demonstrated expertise in root cause analysis
Experience with the collection and analysis of threat intelligence
