Director, PDM Business Process & Operational Excellence - Foster City

Location: Foster City, CA

Gilead Sciences is seeking a Director, PDM Business Process & OpEx to lead cross-functional business process mapping and Operational Excellence (OpEx) initiatives that span multiple PDM functions. OpEx initiatives at individual manufacturing sites are not in scope. Success in this role depends on utilizing the tools and training associated with business process management in a strategic capacity.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional business process mapping and OpEx initiatives. Develop end-to-end business processes that are practical and meaningfully improve current processes, using methodologies and tools for business process management and OpEx.
• Analyze situations and data with sound judgment to identify and resolve problems, making recommendations for high-impact processes affecting multiple PDM functions.
• Interface with members of the PDM Extended Leadership Team to drive meaningful process improvements in PDM.
• Apply analytical, communication, and influencing skills to drive continuous improvement and effective change.

Qualifications

• A degree in life sciences or a relevant business area with 12+ years of post-graduate experience in Pharmaceuticals, Biosciences, or related industries; or MS with 10+ years; or PhD with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience leading cross-functional biopharma strategic initiatives.
• Experience leading business process mapping with a variety of stakeholders and SMEs.
• Experience with business process mapping tools such as Signavio and Visio.
• Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
• Solid understanding of current industry trends.
• Ability to understand complex situations and distill them into clear, actionable processes.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels within the organization.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $226,185.00 - $292,710.00. Base compensation is determined by experience, qualifications, and geographic location. This role may be eligible for discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary by role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
