Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Civil Structural Engineer with expertise in cold-formed/light gauge steel design and a valid California PE license. The ideal candidate will lead the design and analysis of light gauge steel framing systems for commercial, residential, and mixed-use buildings, working closely with architects, developers, and contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, analyze, and detail cold-formed steel structures in accordance with California Building Code (CBC), AISI, and ASCE standards.
• Prepare structural calculations, drawings, and specifications for submittals and permitting.
• Stamp and sign structural documents as Engineer of Record for projects within California.
• Perform structural modeling using tools such as RISA, CFS, SAP2000, Revit, Telka Structures, and/or AutoCAD.
• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Stay current on industry codes, materials, and best practices specific to light gauge steel systems.
• Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and provide construction administration support.
• Mentor junior engineers and drafters, providing quality control and technical guidance.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Active California PE License (required).
• 5+ years of structural engineering experience with a focus on light gauge steel systems.
• Proficiency in relevant structural analysis software (e.g., RISA, CFS, ETABS, STAAD, AutoCAD).
• Strong knowledge of cold-formed steel design, lateral systems, and seismic considerations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

• Experience with design-build delivery or coordination with panelized/prefabricated systems.
• Familiarity with DSA or OSHPD project requirements (if applicable).
• PE License in other states
• SE License (Structural Engineer - CA) is a plus but not required.
