We are currently in search of an Accounting Director/CFO Services Consultant for a Financial Services Organization. The position is fully remote and open to candidates from every state except California. This is a part-time, permanent/direct-hire position.

LOCATION: Remote - Follows Eastern Time (Open to candidates from every state except California)

POSITION TITLE: Accounting Director/CFO Services Consultant

SCHEDULE: Part-time, 20 to 30 hours/week, M-W-F 8:30am to 11:30am Eastern Time, and the rest of the hours are flexible

DURATION: Permanent/Direct-Hire

HOURLY RATE: Starting at $55/hourly

As the Director - Nonprofit Accounting and CFO Services Consultant, you'll be the key leader overseeing a few portfolios of 3-5 nonprofit clients, supported by a dedicated team that includes Consultants (Bookkeepers), Sr Director, and yourself. You'll guide clients through complex accounting processes while ensuring compliance and strategic financial growth.

Our Ideal Candidate:
• 5+ years of nonprofit accounting experience required
• Strong working knowledge of nonprofit GAAP, grants, restrictions, etc. required
• Experience with reconciliation, closing books, P&L, etc. required
• Experience with systems/reporting platform implementation or any planning and forecasting tool required (Anaplan, Workday, Vena, Datarails, Cube. Etc.)
• QuickBooks Online experience preferred
• Passionate about helping nonprofits

How You Will Spend Your Day:

• Provide expert accounting and compliance advisory services to maximize the impact of dollars coming into organizations, while also ensuring adherence to nonprofit accounting rules and GAAP standards.
• Own the budgeting and forecast process for your clients and implement reporting solutions to help with monthly reporting packages and narratives.
• Strengthen the organization's financial operations and health by improving and implementing processes, controls, and ensuring sound fiscal management policies.
• Develop and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting processes using QuickBooks Online to generate and analyze financial reports for clients and Board of Directors reporting.
• Apply critical thinking to ensure accurate revenue recognition for income sources such as contributions, grants, and both qualified and unqualified revenue.
• Design efficient accounting and bookkeeping systems to produce accurate, decision-ready financial information.
• Establish a chart of accounts that creates a financial infrastructure suited for future analysis.
• Oversee annual compliance needs, serving as the liaison for external audits, 990 reporting, and grant reporting.
• Attend clients' Board and Finance Committee Meetings, as needed
• Conduct analysis as needed to support key insights and analysis for clients.
• Manage, mentor, and develop consulting staff (Bookkeepers) supporting your client portfolio.
• Create internal training modules on nonprofit accounting principles and concepts for staff.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders.
• Network with other trusted professionals to generate leads for future client engagements and candidates.
