Substation Engineer - Transmission & Distribution

Role Responsibilities

• Provide engineering leadership and oversight on substation projects, from conceptual design through construction and closeout.
  
• Coordinate with internal teams, external partners, and contractors to ensure high-quality delivery of substation infrastructure and system upgrades.
  
• Support procurement activities, including reviewing technical specifications, evaluating vendor proposals, and witnessing equipment testing.
  
• Lead root cause analyses and recommend process improvements to enhance safety, reliability, and efficiency across T&D systems.

• Strong background in substation engineering with experience in both transmission and distribution systems.
  
• Proven ability to manage multiple large, complex substation projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and contractor oversight.
  
• Hands-on knowledge of major substation equipment (e.g., transformers, switchgear, BESS integration) and familiarity with construction drawings and standards.
  
• Experience supporting interconnection studies, compliance documentation, and technical procedure development within the utility sector.
