Title:Program Assistant (San Mateo)

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Program Coordinator

Summary: Assists the Program Coordinator with coordinating and operating the Stop the Hate and Senior Escort program services in San Mateo County. Supports overseeing and supervising program operations, including activities, staffing, and volunteers. Assists with volunteer recruitment in the region.

Essential Functions:
• Provides intake, assessment, scheduling, referral, and case management to clients who need escort services.
• Assists with recruiting, training, and supervising the Senior Escort team and assists with regular and ad-hoc reporting requirements.
• Supports the program supervisor in maintaining efficient program operations.
• Works closely with the program supervisor to recruit and train volunteers.
• Assists with scheduling program work, overseeing daily operations, and coordinating the program's activities.
• Assists with marketing and outreach to the community.
• Helps with responding to the concerns and issues of clients and the Senior Escort Service Workers and Drivers.
• Assists with maintaining an effective referral system with relevant city departments, organizations, and medical facilities.
• Assists with maintaining a resource database for the Senior Escort Services.
• Attends meetings as assigned.
• Assists with data collection and preparing reports as required by funding sources.
• Serves as a backup for Senior Escort Service Worker/Driver to provide escort services as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in social work, health, counseling, psychology, or related field with relevant social services experience.
• Experience providing health, social, or aging services in the community.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Must be self-motivated, organized, and able to multitask under minimal supervision.
• Proficient in MS Office and the Internet.
• Bilingual in English and Cantonese preferred. Biliterate in Chinese is a plus.
• Must be able to travel via public transportation or personal vehicle to perform job duties. If driving, must have and maintain a valid CA driver's license, satisfactory driving record, and auto insurance coverage as specified in Self-Help's policy.
