In this leadership role, you will guide design strategy, manage complex projects, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver scalable, efficient, and compliant facilities. You will also play a key role in developing design standards and driving consistency across all sites.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architectural vision and strategy for EV operations facilities, ensuring alignment with business goals and operational needs.
  • Manage multiple concurrent design projects from concept through construction, balancing timelines, budgets, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Oversee feasibility studies, site layouts, and early-stage design concepts for new and existing facilities.
  • Guide the design and coordination of EV charging layouts, ensuring compliance with accessibility standards and electrical requirements.
  • Partner with engineering, operations, real estate, and facilities teams to define requirements and ensure cohesive design execution.
  • Lead permitting efforts and ensure all designs meet applicable building codes, zoning regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Develop and maintain design playbooks and guidelines to ensure consistency and repeatability across projects.
  • Review construction documentation and shop drawings, and conduct site visits to ensure design intent is upheld.
  • Contribute to long-term infrastructure planning and real estate strategy through architectural expertise and technical insight.
  • Manage relationships with external architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure quality and alignment with design standards.
  • Implement design review processes and support continuous improvement across the design and construction lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience in architectural design and pre-construction, with a focus on transportation, industrial, or technical facilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing complex, multi-site design projects.
  • Experience designing EV charging infrastructure and coordinating with electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other architectural design tools.
  • Deep understanding of building codes (ADA, NEC) and permitting processes.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Experience developing design standards or playbooks for scalable infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with sustainability principles and energy-efficient design strategies.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to evolving priorities.
