The Resilient Recovery Program provides youth and adults with substance use and co-occurring mental health services in the form of individual and group counseling and care coordination. The Resilient Recovery Program is committed to working with underserved communities from a variety of backgrounds. We strive to meet the ongoing needs of individuals struggling with mental health issues, substance use disorders, and co-occurring mental health issues.

The Clinical Therapist I has clinical responsibilities and LPHA (Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts) assessment responsibilities. This position will be able to carry a caseload of individual and group clients in the outpatient substance use disorder program. The Clinical Therapist I will provide individual and group therapy/counseling and collaborate with other providers, both internal and external, to HR360 to assist clients with meeting their treatment plan goals and participate in discharge planning. In addition, this individual will provide crisis management as needed and handle all necessary follow-ups. The Clinical Therapist I will administer intake and admission assessments, create comprehensive treatment plans, and sign off on treatment plans and other required documentation, including diagnosis and medical necessity.

  1. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Individual Treatment Responsibilities:
  • Provides weekly individual therapy and counseling to clients in the outpatient treatment facility and their partners and families when clinically appropriate.
  • Maintains confidentiality while working as part of a treatment team and adhering to program norms. Participates in case conferences, treatment planning, and clinical discussions to provide holistic care.
  • Communicates with prescribing psychiatrists regarding psychotropic medication compliance, side effects, and follow-up appointments.
  • Proactively links clients to both internal and external resources based on their treatment needs and follows up on the progress/status.
Treatment Setting Responsibilities:
  • Facilitates evidence-based group counseling on various core curriculum topics, including CBT, Seeking Safety, DBT, Grief and Loss, co-occurring disorders, etc.
  • Provides consultation to staff regarding symptom management, co-occurring disorders, and crisis intervention strategies. Attends individual and group supervision and attends staff and agency meetings.
  • Participates in agency training as required. Complies with Board requirements for license registration/renewal.
  • Provide individual therapy and group counseling to clients in treatment as needed and to their partners and families when clinically appropriate.
  • Communicate with prescribing psychiatrists regarding psychotropic medication compliance, side effects, and follow-up appointments.
  • Coordinate discharge planning in collaboration with the rest of the treatment team.
  • Provide consultation to staff regarding symptom management, mental health conditions, and crisis intervention strategies.
  • Comply with Board requirements for license registration/renewal.
  • Participate in developingtreatment plans and assessments and complete all assigned documentation in a timely manner.
  • Plans and facilitates client celebrations and special events.
  • Will work one weekend day based on rotating schedule to facilitate the scheduled weekend groups.
  • Will work at agency's main office and in addition to co-location sites which may include schools, community health centers, in-home, and partner agencies.
Documentation Responsibilities:
  • Conducts assessments, develops treatment plans, completes release and consent forms, and other required documentation in various electronic systems.
  • In addition, completes Managed-care, Medi-Cal, and Drug Medi-Cal documentation and billing requirements.
  • Documents individual and group services delivered in various electronic systems in accordance with guidelines established by HealthRIGHT 360 to satisfy internal and external evaluating requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records by data entering documentation into various electronic systems for all caseload clients in accordance with guidelines established by HealthRIGHT 360 to satisfy internal and external evaluating requirements.
  • Participate in Peer Chart/ Utilization Reviews for preparation of program audits. Will adhere to documentation policies and procedures set forth by Compliance Department.
  • Be responsive and pro-active in all correspondences with referring parties such as behavioral health providers, probation, social workers, and the Quality Improvement Dept. via treatment status reports, phone calls, faxes, etc.
  • Assist in providing written progress reports/narratives to Clinical Program Manager or Directors as requested.
Productivity and Coverage Responsibilities:
  • Must meet productivity standards as set forth by the organization, the minimum being 50% productivity.
  • Ensure coverage during absences or unplanned events by coordinating with team members and management.
  • Adjusts workload as necessary to ensure uninterrupted service delivery, including stepping in to provide support during peak demand times or staff shortages.
  • Adheres to the program's scheduling protocols to maintain appropriate client-to-provider ratios.
And perform other duties as assigned.
  1. QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Certification, and Experience
  • Board Registered or ASW, AMFT, or APCC.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in dual diagnosis substance abuse treatment in an inpatient or outpatient community mental health setting.
Knowledge
  • Culturally responsive and able to work with a diverse population.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word Outlook and internet applications.
  • Experience working successfully with issues of substance abuse, mental health, criminal background, and other potential barriers to economic self-sufficiency.
Desired:
  • Knowledge and experience with DBT, CBT, MI, assessment tools, and trauma-based treatment are highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of trauma, co-occurring disorders, and substance abuse treatment
  • Knowledge of clinical documentation (treatment plans, progress notes etc.).
  • Experience working with the criminal justice population.
  • Knowledge of MediCal regulations and standards
Competencies
  • Clinical Expertise: Proficiency in providing individual and group therapy, with a focus on substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions.
  • Case Management: Ability to manage a caseload, including crisis management, discharge planning, and coordination with other care providers.
  • Assessment and Diagnosis: Competence in administering intake assessments, creating treatment plans, and documenting diagnoses and medical necessity.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Effective communication with internal and external providers, including psychiatrists, and active participation in case conferences and treatment planning.
  • Confidentiality and Ethics: Strict adherence to confidentiality protocols and ethical standards in handling client information and interactions.
  • Crisis Intervention: Skilled in providing immediate crisis management and supporting staff with crisis intervention strategies.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Accuracy and timeliness in completing required documentation, including EMR, Medi-Cal, and other compliance-related paperwork.
  • Group Facilitation: Ability to facilitate evidence-based group counseling sessions on topics such as CBT, DBT, and co-occurring disorders.
  • Adaptability and Continuous Learning: Commitment to ongoing professional development, including attending required agency trainings and maintaining licensure.
  • Productivity and Time Management: Consistent achievement of service delivery and productivity standards.
