Description:

The Security Investigator reports directly to the Autos and Metals Recycling (AMR) Security Supervisor. He/She will support the AMR Security & Asset Protection Program and the Director–Corporate Security by developing and operating a comprehensive program for the protection of assets and securing facilities across all functional and geographic units of the AMR Division. The primary function of this position will be conducting fraud and theft investigations. The Security Investigator will also have responsibility for performing threat and site vulnerability assessments and implementing security audit protocols and security controls. Other responsibilities, including conducting fraud investigations, will be determined on an as-needed basis by the Director–Corporate Security.

Compensation Range: $75,000/year - $95,000/year

Essential Functions

As the Security Investigator, you will be responsible for preparing threat and site vulnerability assessments, implementing security audit protocols, and assisting in the implementation of effective security controls. Additionally, you will assist the AMR Division with anti-fraud controls and educate staff on ongoing risks, security best practices, and policy and control requirements through briefings and awareness programs. This position requires a dynamic, self-motivated individual capable of strategic and tactical decision-making and possessing a high level of expertise in conducting, documenting, and reporting on security investigations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or a combination of education and experience
  • 3-5 years experience conducting security investigations
  • Strong leadership skills; highly motivated and a self-starter
  • Excellent communication skills, including written and oral, with the ability to speak with employees at various levels in the organization
  • Effective organizational, analytical, and research skills in resolving complex problems
  • Knowledge of Crystal Reports and Oracle Business Intelligence preferred; advanced knowledge of Excel required
  • Creative ability in reviewing operational risk and developing reporting solutions to mitigate/track
  • Possession of one or more professional security certifications such as PSP, CPP, PCI, CFE, or equivalent is a plus
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and the ability to drive an automobile
