We're Happyverse, a venture-backed startup building Confidants, interactive AI video avatars.

Our Confidants help knowledge workers scale themselves personally and professionally, build trust with their customers, and optimize messaging and conversions. We are backed by Village Global and Jeff Dean, among others.

The Goal

You'll own the intelligence layer of our Confidants: designing memory, context, and agentic orchestration so conversations feel natural, consistent, and meaningful.

Your job is to architect the "mind," the part that makes our avatars trustworthy, coherent, and alive.

• An orchestration layer for memory, context-switching, and agent behavior
• Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines that ground conversations in facts and style
• Prompting + evaluation systems optimized for speed, personality, and emotional intelligence
• Tools for prompt versioning, testing, and observability
• Fine-tuning loops that preserve character fidelity and voice
• Interfaces between intelligence, video/audio ML, and product so the avatar's words and body stay in sync
• Have shipped LLM-powered, multi-agent, or RAG-based systems in production
• Are fluent in LangGraph, CrewAI, or custom-built agent frameworks
• Understand prompt engineering deeply and know when prompts aren't enough
• Have experience evaluating and fine-tuning LLMs for style, responsiveness, and coherence
• Care about identity, memory, and continuity in human–AI interaction
• Want to define what it feels like to talk to an AI, not just what it says
• Backed by Village Global and Jeff Dean
• Pre-launch with real users, strong pull, and deep product differentiation
• Founding role with real ownership - shape the mind of the product, the experience, and the culture
• Work with ex-Google, AWS, and OpenAI engineers building at the edge of what's possible
