plans to meet objectives and deliver results. Manages fiscal, physical, and personnel resources and may manage multiple facilities and personnel.
The Associate Facilities Director is responsible for the implementation of operational management-level decisions applied down through subordinate staff (Managers, trades, engineering, and applications teams). Supports the Director with objectives, programs, develops strategies and policies, and manages human, financial, and physical resources. Proactively collaborates with the management team to assess risk in establishing systems and procedures to protect organizational initiatives. Through governance, determines strategies and programs that support and align with organization-wide goals.
The position reports to the Director of Facilities and Support Services.
Establishes objectives and work plans, and delegates assignments to subordinate professionals or managers. Reviews and approves recommendations for facilities management and related programs. Responsible for managing, preparing, administering, and directing facilities management resources. Involved in developing, modifying, and executing policies that affect immediate operation(s). Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve goals result in additional costs and personnel, and serious delays in overall schedules.The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. Department Description
UCSF Health Facilities and Support Services is responsible for facilities maintenance and repair of approximately 100 buildings to include in-house infrastructure-related construction projects, emergency response, repairs and regular maintenance as well as regulatory documentation of the above processes. This is achieved through the efforts of a hospital maintenance team of contract engineers, crafts trades persons, outside contractor vendors and a group of Facilities Management professionals. The overall objective of the group's efforts is to ensure a high level of operating system reliability and customer service in order to provide the best possible environment for patient care and safety. Call Center, Energy, Utilities and Infrastructure, Business Applications, BIM4FM, Safety (F&LS, Helideck), Hospital Projects, Leaseholds all fall under the F&SS umbrella.
