Operations Manager, Onsite Events

The Operations Manager, Onsite Events directs activities of assigned direct reports to ensure all customer service levels and deliverables pertaining to the assigned account are achieved. Delivers comprehensive leadership to clients and dedicated service partners; oversees the compliance and adherence to the event program process; provides assigned team with support, coaching and training; and manages special projects.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Employee Management (50%)
    Supports and coaches assigned direct reports on core job responsibilities related to the sourcing, planning, and execution of the clients' meeting and events program. Leads team meetings, encourages industry trend sharing, acts as subject matter expert, reviews employee performance, and oversees training and onboarding processes.

  2. Client and Partner Team Relations (30%)
    Participates in client meetings, presents operational processes, reviews project updates, and resolves challenges. Leads regular meetings with service partner teams, maintains proactive communication with clients, and manages operational issues and escalations.

  3. Project/Process Management (20%)
    Develops and implements SOPs and process improvements, oversees metric tracking, analyzes client satisfaction results, manages projects supporting the event program, and provides backup support for the Director.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; CMP certification a plus.
  • 5+ years in meeting/event planning or related field.
  • Proven ability to promote change and efficiencies in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong program/event management and budget skills.
  • Experience in client relationship management and multi-project handling.
  • Leadership experience, including coaching and developing teams.
  • Excellent communication skills; proficient with G Suite and quick to learn new technology.

Additional Information: Salary range: $95,000 - $110,000/year. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401k, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, and more. Must have authorization to work in the U.S. as sponsorship is not provided. Maritz is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
