HireArt is helping Toyota Research Institute (TRI) hire a Battery Hardware Technician to evaluate advanced metrology systems in the Battery Factory of the Future lab.

In this role, you will be responsible for aligning/testing optical systems, working with linear actuators, writing Python software for hardware control/data acquisition, and communicating your findings.

We're looking for someone with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience working with optical systems. You have experience running scientific experiments and working knowledge of data analytics in Python.

As a Battery Hardware Technician, you'll:

  • Guide installation and acceptance testing of new manufacturing quality sensing systems.
  • Lead optical, mechanical, electrical, and software support for sensing systems.
  • Design and execute test plans, and propose improvements to sensing systems.
  • Develop data acquisition and analysis tools for visual inspection data from sensing systems.
  • Expand your knowledge of machine learning vision systems and capabilities for manufacturing quality control.
  • Some travel may be required, as well as opportunities for conference participation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor, Masters, or PhD degree (or equivalent work experience) in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience working with optical systems
  • Experience with embedded systems software (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc.)
  • Experience running scientific experiments and evaluating hardware
  • Knowledge of data analytics in Python (e.g., numpy, pandas, etc.)
  • Some experience with AWS is desirable
