Logistic Specialties, Inc. (LSI), the Aviation Logistics Support Contractor for the CAL FIRE Aviation Management Unit (AMU), has an immediate opening for a Aviation Parts Room/Warehouse Associate.

Position Summary
The Aviation Parts Room/Warehouse Associate assists in the general upkeep of an aircraft maintenance and repair facility. Under the direction of the Logistics Support Manager and the Lead, this position supports inventory management, maintenance, and logistical operations to ensure smooth and efficient facility management.

Key Responsibilities

Receipt, storage, inventory, and issuance of tooling or equipment.

Issue parts and tools to mechanics

Put returning tools away and ensure the tool sign out log is updated.

Review tools sign out log daily for items signed out and inform the associated supervisor if required.

Issue rotables and receive parts to be turned in.

Assist mechanics in locating parts as required.

Support packaging items for shipment as needed.

Ensure all transactions are completed in a timely manner.
Assist the Lead to order parts as requested from mechanics and research each item for availability. If the current

inventory quantity is not at or close to reorder quantity, verify inventory bin location and overstock.

When ordering parts, include all available information on the Quantum RFQ form to assist Procurement in finding

the requested parts, (e.g., previous vendor, NSN, alternate PN, Catalog Name and Number).

Sort orders by Aircraft type and or requirement (e.g., OV10, S2T, S70i, HC-130, ALL / AGE, ENG. SHOP, BRAKE SHOP).

hen orders are completed, assemble QFQ's and reviewed by the Supervisor. Then forward to the

Aviation Maintenance Officer for approval. Once approved by CAL FIRE, the RFQ systematically then goes to the

next level of AMU Officer for review, then on to Procurement for purchasing actions.

Help coordinate with Receiving and the Warehouse for daily pick-up of parts. Ensure all paperwork and transfer sheets are completed prior to pick-up. Inspect parts for missing items or shipping damage and proper accompanying paperwork (e.g., vendors yellow tag, FAA Form 8130-3 or the vendors C of C).

Receive parts in Quantum and transfer to assigned Parts Room Bin or storage location. New inventory items are assigned to storage or bin locations.

When sheet metal, extrusion, or hinge pin stock etc., are received, ensure certifications are filed with the PO number written on the cert and on the metal or container. Scan or file a copy of the certification.

Ensure all items received with a cure date or test date have a completed and filed Form 108.

Log in preformed packages in the receipt log indicating the date received, vendor and expiration date.

Ensure workers or Leads alert Inventory Supervisors to any priority request received.

Assist in packaging items for shipment as needed.

Follow Parts Room/Warehouse policies. Issue, store, and track tools and equipment. Maintain and update tool sign-out logs and support ordering and receiving of parts, ensuring timely transactions.

Digitally track all parts utilizing bar coding and AUM computerized database.

In conjunction with CAL FIRE IT, finish installing bar coding equipment. Receive previously purchased Bar Coding Training from Component Control. Apply all bar codes on inventory and proceed with using bar code processes.

Operation of handling equipment as necessary.

Always choose the correct equipment required for the task.

Ensure you are qualified to use the equipment. If not qualified, contact a Lead or supervisor for assistance.

Loading and unloading trucks, freight cars, or other common carriers and transporting material to specified areas.

Ensure you use required PPE and mechanical/motorized equipment to unload freight.

Get shipping documentation from shipping company and notify Receiving of delivery or shipment.

Compare documentation to PO Count and verify against the packing slip.

Ensure the PO matches Packing Slip and verify with the Receiving Lead if any required COC, 8130 or other required certification paperwork should be present before shipping or signing for delivery. If there are any discrepancies, get guidance from the Lead or Supervisor prior to shipping or signing receipt and return all shipping or delivery paperwork to receiving.

Assist in receiving, unpacking, and checking of incoming tooling or equipment against invoices or bills of lading to verify items and quantities received.

Ensure you and subordinates get shipping documentation from shipping company and notify Receiving of delivery or shipment. Compare documentation to PO.

Verify all shipping documentation and notify receiving of any discrepancies.

Perform other duties as assigned to ensure facility efficiency and compliance.

Additional responsibilities.

Comply with CAL FIRE approved work attire.

Adherence to CAL FIRE's Information Technology (IT) Acceptable-Use Policy

Responsible for safeguarding all CAL FIRE and LSI property and equipment provided. Ensure that all governmental facilities, property and materials are left secured.

Adhere to CAL FIRE's Installation Security Program.

Qualifications.

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Must possess a valid California driver's license.

One (1) year of experience in the following: handling, packing, and shipping of stock performing

Inventories and maintaining inventory records.

Ability to operate forklifts and other types of material handling equipment.

Ability to take inventories and maintain inventory records.

Possess basic computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to accurately input information into a computerized database.

Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Successfully pass a drug and background check.

Must be a US Citizen
