Description:

Silvercrest Senior Residences serve to fill a critical need for housing for low-income seniors. Residents pay only thirty percent of their income for housing, and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) pays the difference. These apartment-style communities range in size from 22 to 257 units. The units are equipped with a private kitchen and comfortable living quarters, which encourage independent living.

Job: Property Manager

Status: Full-Time

Location: San Francisco, Silvercrest in San Francisco, CA

Salary Range: $45.00-$50.00 per hour

This position requires on-site residency, meaning you will be expected to live on-site where the job is located. Failure to reside on-site may result in separation from the company. This is a serious requirement, and compliance is expected.

As part of your job offer, you will be provided with a 1-bedroom apartment on-site. The fair market value of the unit is considered a business expense and is not taxed federally, state-wise, or socially. It will be factored into your retirement benefits when eligible. A background check will be conducted on all residents over 18. The apartment is conditional upon active employment with the Salvation Army and signing the On-Site Living Agreement and House Rules. Silvercrest is a non-smoking building; smoking is prohibited. One small pet (up to 20 lbs) is allowed. The move-in date will be determined by the Regional Manager.

Responsibilities:

  1. Implement procedures and tasks of building management as per Silvercrest Operating Procedures Manual and Salvation Army policies.
  2. Manage daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules related to property inspection, preventive maintenance, tenant certification, vendor selection, unit turnover, safety, appearance, staff training, and evaluation.
  3. Oversee day-to-day activities related to loss prevention, risk management, safety/security, and maintenance.
  4. Maintain standard office hours and participate in on-call responsibilities for emergencies.
  5. Keep accurate property and resident records.
  6. Coordinate regularly with Salvation Army officers.
  7. Provide reports and records timely and accurately.
  8. Represent The Salvation Army positively with residents, vendors, and staff.
  9. Handle resident and visitor complaints with tact and professionalism.
  10. Possess a valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation for TSA-related driving duties.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned by Silvercrest Management.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Intermediate or higher computer skills; experience with management software like One Site is a plus.
  • Experience working with senior communities preferred.
  • Knowledge of HUD policies regarding Section 8 Multi-Family Housing, MORs, and REAC inspections.
  • 5-6 years of experience in affordable/subsidized housing sector.

  • Driver's License
