A Brief Overview
Responsible for managing all clinic operations, and directly managing clinical and support staff. Collaborates and works closely with physicians and mid-level providers to ensure smooth clinic operations, staff adherence to UHA policies and procedures, and promotes and ensures consistent delivery of an excellent patient experience. The Practice Manager is also responsible for implementing and managing organizational goals to include financial and patient satisfaction goals, employee and physician/provider engagement, and developing related action plans.

What you will do

  • Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, hire and manage staff. Delegate and coordinate tasks in order to maintain a system which assures effective and quality patient care.
  • Provide leadership for employees so as to foster professionalism towards patients, physicians/providers, and co-workers including successful implementation of CI-CARE.
  • Keep accurate records of attendance, arranging for coverage as needed for employees' Paid Time Off (PTO) and physicians/providers' Scheduled Time Off.
  • Plan and conduct staff meetings and in-services to promote teamwork, provide information, and reinforce policies and philosophy. This includes UHA employees as well as physicians/providers.
  • Personnel Administration:
  • On an on-going basis and annually, evaluate employee performance keeping accurate personnel records. Monitor and manage performance, and handle disciplinary issues per UHA policies.
  • Work closely with employees, physicians/providers and patients to effectively resolve patient complaints per UHA policy. Understand and effectively communicate UHA's Charity Care and Financial Assistance policy.
  • Business & Facilities Management:
  • Manage physicians/providers' appointment schedules in Epic and scheduled time off from work, etc.
  • In participation with UHA Finance, develop and monitor a departmental budget for controlling operational and capital expenses.
  • Work closely with the landlord and/or UHA Facilities Management to update all staff and physicians/providers regarding building repairs or upgrades which may affect day-to-day operations.
  • All other duties as assigned including department-specific functions and responsibilities:
  • Performs other duties as assigned, participates in organization projects as assigned and maintains a level of professionalism that is a reflection of UHA standards of care and the C-I CARE initiative as appropriate.
  • Adheres to human resources, safety, HIPAA and compliance policies.


Education Qualifications

  • Associate degree.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.


Experience Qualifications

  • Three (3) – five (5) years experience in healthcare, business management, clinical services, human resources or related field. Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience acceptable.
  • Epic EMR experience highly preferred.
  • Lean/Quality Improvement experience highly preferred.


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • High level of verbal and written communication skills with a strong capacity for detail, and maintaining clear/effective communications with physicians, employees, administration and corporate personnel.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills to manage multiple priorities and meet required deadlines.
  • Advanced analytical ability and problem solving skills necessary to establish new systems and procedures, analyze the impact of various transactions/situations and make sound recommendations for process improvements.
  • Ability to mentor and educate staff expanding their knowledge and application of these principles and laws.
  • Strong interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with and counsel physicians, employees and administrative staff regarding sensitive matters, and provide leadership to subordinates.
  • Management skills necessary to attract, inspire and retain highly qualified and motivated staff.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $53.63 - $71.07 per hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
