Position Summary

Provide professional, high-level unarmed security services for personnel, visitors, and property across various buildings in the California Bay Area. Work locations include Mission Bay, South San Francisco, San Carlos, and Palo Alto. Shifts in specific buildings are not guaranteed.

Pay Transparency/Compensation

Rate of Pay: $40.00/hr

Paid training for 1.5 weeks at a full hourly rate

Responsibilities

• Provide security for buildings by conducting perimeter security, internal security, threat monitoring, etc.
• Protect personnel and property professionally
• Deal tactfully and politely with the public and visitors
• Screen and process visitors effectively
• Identify, report, delay, or detain persons violating rules
• Conduct internal and external patrols (vehicle, bicycle, foot)
• Manage traffic control as necessary
• Respond to alarms and emergencies
• Secure entrances/exits during emergencies
• Control keys and lock combinations
• Communicate via two-way radio or cellular phone
• Follow all policies, procedures, and requirements
• Observe and report suspicious activities or offenses
• Complete reports and paperwork as required
• Provide first aid, CPR, and emergency assistance
• Maintain mandated training standards
• Ensure safety compliance and participate in safety programs
• Perform additional duties as assigned
• Attend work in person regularly

Qualifications

• Meet at least one experience requirement:
• Law Enforcement graduate OR
• Honorable military discharge at E4 or above OR
• Four years licensed security experience with advanced training and a clean record OR
• Five years unarmed and two years armed security experience, or military service with honorable discharge
• Active BSIS Guard License
• OC Certification
• High School diploma or equivalent; foreign education evaluated for U.S. standards
• U.S. citizen with social security card
• Current driver's license
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification
• Meet medical, physical, drug test, and background screening standards
• Complete required training and certification

Physical Requirements

Lift up to 50 lbs, perform running, standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, bending, and operate bicycles or vehicles. Outdoor conditions possible.
