Job Summary
The incumbent ensures accountability and stewardship of UCSF Dept. of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences resources (operational, financial, and human) in compliance with departmental, government, and accrediting body standards and procedures. Responsible for clearly communicating and coordinating OTOP intake services with local hospitals, jails and community providers to ensure access to treatment and continuity of care.
A portion of time may be spent performing individual tasks related to the clinic such as individual counseling, de-escalation, care coordination and other intake services; however, supervisory and oversight of team operations constitute the primary part of the job. The incumbent will collaborate with the Deputy Medical Director, Intake Admin Specialist and other staff on program policy, program evaluation, and process improvement. Supervises staff involved in providing behavioral health services to patients with serious mental health disorders. Patient care may be provided by a combination of licensed clinicians, as well as counselors and crisis intervention specialists. Assists in ensuring the quality of treatment delivery. Assists with the administration and management of personnel, fiscal, and material resources.
Job Summary:
Involves patient care services for a range of mental health disorders, often severe including major depressive disorders, paranoia, schizophrenia, or bipolar disorder. Settings may be inpatient, outpatient or clinical research studies. Patient care may be provided by a combination of licensed clinicians, as well as counselors and crisis intervention specialists. Patients typically require routine assistance, treatment or a specialized and controlled environment. Primary emphasis on treatment and attempt where possible to help patients control their own lives in the outside world, with the use of a combination of psychiatric drugs and psychotherapy.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $115,500 - $130,000 (Annual Rate).

Department Description
Opiate Treatment Outpatient Program (OTOP) is operated through the UCSF Department of Psychiatry at San Francisco General Hospital in partnership with the San Francisco Department of Public Health. OTOP provides evidence-based outpatient treatment for substance use disorders with particular emphasis on medications for opioid addiction treatment.
Our clinic has rapidly been expanding intake services to increase access to methadone treatment in San Francisco. This is an exciting time to join our team as we grow and transform with the expansion of our services to best support our patients' needs. We are looking for a mission-driven, team leader committed to excellent, de-stigmatized patient care for patients looking to change their substance use.
