Job Description Summary

IOA is seeking an Experience Staff Accountant (Accountant II) to fill a position on our accounting team in a dynamic, high-growth environment. This full-time exempt position reports directly to the Accounting Manager and is based in our San Francisco office.

As our Accountant II, you will play a major role in our daily accounting operations, month end closing, and process implementation/enhancement as we scale.

Key Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Accurately and efficiently post all incoming payments daily
  • Prepare accurate and timely invoices for grant submission
  • Support the maintenance of the general ledger by ensuring proper and timely entering and recording of financial transactions in the general ledger in accordance with GAAP and Company policies
  • Participate in the month-end close processes by performing activities that include but are not limited to preparing, reviewing and posting journal entries
  • Assist with ongoing account reconciliation and specific projects by reviewing and researching assigned accounts. Ensure that general ledger accounts are resolved and reconciled on a timely basis. This may entail the review of account reconciliations with management
  • Provide support for year-end audits, and tax return completed by the Company's external auditors
  • Assist in the review and streamlining of necessary internal controls and processes
  • Provide accounting support to the Controller and Managers on special projects as required or assigned
  • Perform other duties or assist with ad hoc projects as requested

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance
  • 3+ years of accounting experience
  • Strong Excel skills with ability to create pivot tables and perform v-look ups, etc
  • Experience with general ledger function and the month-end close process, including account reconciliations and analyses
  • Experience with NetSuite and Expensify is preferred

  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking, analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to reach, bend and walk
  • Five-finger manipulation

Compensation

  • Range: $ 80,000.00 - 90,000.00/annual

This amount is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, nor a promise of any specific pay for any specific employee, which is always dependent on actual experience, education and other factors.

This range does not include any additional equity, benefits, or other non-monetary compensation which may be included.
