The Law Enforcement Operations ("LEO") team are digital first-responders protecting Snapchatters and the public at-large. The team handles all global law enforcement requests for user data, and responds to these requests as legally permissible and consistent with Snap policies, while simultaneously safeguarding the privacy rights of our users. We're looking for a Law Enforcement Response Specialist to join the Law Enforcement Operations team!

What you'll do:

  • Accurately review, index, and process various types of legal requests from global law enforcement
  • Participate in on-call rotation for law enforcement emergency requests and internal escalations, which requires working atypical weekday hours, some weekend days and/or holidays each month
  • View and action reported content as needed. Reported content can be graphic so you must be comfortable viewing graphic content.
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls from law enforcement, providing helpful and empathetic support within policy guidelines
  • Review team members' work product and provide feedback as a core part of the role
  • Create and lead internal training sessions on an as-needed basis
  • Enhance operational workflows via process and policy improvements
  • Drive successful projects and tooling initiatives

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to accurately analyze lengthy legal documents
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with minimal oversight
  • Ability to organize and prioritize assignments effectively
  • Willingness to travel and participate in testimony appearances on behalf of Snap

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or job related equivalent experience in lieu of degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working directly with law enforcement in a professional setting
  • Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the company
  • Call center experience an asset
  • Near native fluency in French, German, Arabic, or Nordic languages
  • A passion for Snapchat and online safety!

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):

The base salary range for this position is $60,000-$90,000 annually.

Zone B:

The base salary range for this position is $57,000-$86,000 annually.

Zone C:

The base salary range for this position is $51,000-$77,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
