Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced remote centeredenvironment with variety in your work? The California Department of Insurance (CDI) is seeking a dynamic Associate Governmental Program Analyst with strong writing, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager I (SSMI) of the Licensing Background Section 2 (LBS 2), incumbent independently analyzes and prepares cases for various types of enforcement actions and closing memorandums to the Legal Division. Writes, interprets, and applies provisions of the California Insurance Code (CIC) and California Code of Regulations (CCR) pertaining to case files, develops alternative resolution options, and determines settlement offers. The Background Analyst independently makes recommendations for resolutions of complaints, prepares and completes correspondence, and writes reports for management's review. Mentors and trains new staff, acts as lead reviewing case files and assigned projects, and serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for background processes.
This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment. Failure to comply with the Conflict of Interest Code requirements may void the appointment.
