Daily Life & Household Support

  • Manage daily logistics, including transportation, grocery shopping, meal planning, and light household organization.
  • Assist with scheduling and coordinating home maintenance, repairs, and other in-home services.
  • Help coordinate paid caregiver and worker schedules, ensuring seamless support at home.

  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as bill payments, appointment scheduling, and household organization.

Social & Lifestyle Engagement

Caregiver & Family Support

  • Work in partnership with family caregivers, reducing stress by handling logistical and lifestyle responsibilities.
  • Offer emotional support and practical assistance to caregivers navigating the complexities of dementia care.
  • Provide insights and updates to the Guide and IDT team regarding the client's well-being, engagement, and evolving needs.

Proactive, Relationship-Driven Approach

  • Focus on preventing crises rather than reacting to them, ensuring a smooth, structured support system.
  • Maintain a flexible, personalized approach to services, tailoring support to each client's unique lifestyle and preferences.
  • Serve as a trusted and reliable presence in the lives of both the client and their caregiver, fostering long-term relationships.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with older adults, particularly those with dementia or cognitive impairments (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and adaptable approach.
  • Ability to navigate complex family dynamics with sensitivity and professionalism.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for community-based work.

Preferred

  • Experience working within a private pay, fee-for-service model.
  • Background in lifestyle coordination, event planning, or concierge services for older adults.
  • Familiarity with dementia-specific engagement strategies and supportive interventions.

Work Environment

This is a flexible, community-based role with time spent in clients' homes, community settings, and administrative planning. The Lifestyle Assistant will work both independently and as part of a highly collaborative Dyad team, contributing to the overall well-being of clients and their families.
