The Stanford Graduate School of Business is seeking a Temporary Research Analyst to join the Stanford Latino Entrepreneurship Research Initiative (SLEI). The Research Analyst will work closely with the SLEI Associate Director to conduct research that enhances understanding of the experiences of U.S. Latino entrepreneurs. This work aims to build a foundation of knowledge that policy-makers, non-profits, and entrepreneurs can utilize to better support the growth and success of Latino-owned and other minority-founded businesses. The successful candidate will have excellent skills in data analysis and statistical computing, with the ability to analyze and interpret both qualitative and quantitative data. This is a temporary position, starting in mid-August and ending in January.

CORE DUTIES:
● Organize, clean, and merge survey data, including U.S. Census data.
● Analyze, interpret, and synthesize data using statistical techniques to highlight key findings.
● Summarize and present results accurately in tables, charts, and graphs for inclusion in the final report.
● Identify and address problems, and make informed decisions that guide the direction of the research, contributing to the overall success of the project.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant social science field, or an equivalent combination of education and applicable experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
● Demonstrated expertise in data analysis and statistical methods.
● Substantial experience and understanding of at least one statistical software package, such as R, Python, and/or Stata. Experience using Qualtrics is preferred.
● Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; excellent judgment. Ability to utilize graphs, charts, and visuals to communicate key findings to non-academic audiences.
● Ability to work under deadlines with general guidance and adapt to changing project needs and priorities.
● Excellent project management, organizational skills, and demonstrated ability to complete detailed work accurately.
● Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
Preferred/Desired Skills:
● Experience working with diverse populations.
● Working knowledge of data mining and modeling.
● Interest in entrepreneurship among diverse populations, along with some familiarity with business financial reports.
● Proficiency in data visualization tools, such as Tableau or similar.
● Familiarity with U.S. Census data related to businesses in the United States.

The expected pay range for this position is $45-60 per hour. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good-faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
● This position can be hybrid or fully remote. The candidate must be available to work standard Pacific Time hours.
● May be required (rarely) to work non-standard, extended or weekend hours in support of research work.
