Job Brief: Assistant Director – Camp Kimama Halfmoon
Location: Great Barrington, MA
Position Type: Seasonal (May – September)
Camp Halfmoon is seeking a passionate, organized, and dynamic Assistant Director to join our leadership team for the upcoming camp season. Situated in the picturesque setting of Great Barrington, MA, our camp offers a vibrant and inclusive environment that brings together children from diverse backgrounds to enjoy unforgettable summer experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Camp Director in the day-to-day management of camp operations, including scheduling, staff supervision, and camper activities.
Lead and mentor seasonal staff to ensure high-quality programming and a positive work environment.
Oversee camper safety, well-being, and engagement while fostering a culture of inclusion and respect.
Assist with pre-camp preparations, including staff training, program planning, and logistics coordination.
Act as a liaison between parents, staff, and the camp administration, ensuring smooth communication and prompt resolution of concerns.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in camp leadership or similar roles, with a strong track record of working with children and managing teams.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing needs.
Commitment to fostering a fun, safe, and supportive camp culture.
Availability to live on-site from May through September.
Microsoft office applications knowledge (Excel especially)
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in summer camps or recreational programming.
