Merlin Law Group is seeking a Paralegal with 5+ years of litigation experience in our San Francisco, CA office.

Who we are: Merlin Law Group is a national insurance claim litigation firm handling commercial and residential property insurance claims, as well as bad faith claims. We are dedicated to helping policyholders protect themselves in complex legal battles and advocating for strong laws to safeguard the insured nationwide.

Position Overview: We are looking for a talented Paralegal with over 5 years of litigation experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage a diverse workload in a fast-paced environment. The paralegal/legal assistant will support our attorneys, maintain case files, and ensure smooth operations within our litigation team.

What you'll do:

• Conduct initial client intake and gather detailed case information.
• Perform legal research related to cases.
• Act as liaison among courts and other parties.
• Review, organize, and maintain case pleadings and indexes.
• Draft pleadings, subpoenas, discovery requests/responses, correspondence, and interrogatories.
• Coordinate document collection, review, and production.
• Assist in deposition and trial preparation, including witness preparation.
• Support trial preparations with exhibits, witness binders, and demonstrative evidence.

Our ideal candidate:

• Associate's Degree or Certificate in Paralegal Studies (preferred)
• 5+ years of litigation experience as a paralegal or legal assistant
• Knowledge of State and Federal court systems and filings
• Experience with First Party Property Insurance (a plus)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management software
• Excellent communication skills
• Organized and detail-oriented
