StaffWizard Corp is an all-in scheduling and time management system that handles the employment process from start to finish. Our objective is to minimize the number of hands required to keep your organization operational. We are currently seeking a full-time Payroll Associate to join our team in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. You will be responsible for entering client payroll hours into our payroll system, verifying and processing wages, taxes, and any garnishments or levies accurately, in accordance with the local jurisdictions' labor laws. Part of the payroll process may also include creating a NACHA file and uploading it to our bank for disbursement.

The Payroll Associate will work under the supervision of the Payroll Supervisor to facilitate our client's payroll within the established framework of StaffWizard, as well as coordinate with various programs and staff to enhance payroll service performance and improve payroll systems. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and has a strong knowledge of payroll rules and practices, with a deep technical background and proven experience managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and clients to deliver innovative software solutions. We are not offering visa sponsorship for this position at this time.   • Must live in the San Francisco Bay Area (This is an In-Office Position)
  • Compensation Range for this Position is $55,000 - $65,000 based on experience
  • Spanish Proficiency is desired

What you will do:

  • Process payroll for employees inside the organization, as well as client payroll(s).
  • Work directly with departments and programs to achieve organization goals as required
  • Respond to payroll queries from employees and clients in a timely manner, including final payments
  • Work with company database programs to process payroll
  • Assist in payroll and timesheet audit activities and other duties as required
  • Collaborate with the HR Department on personnel-related changes, assist and coordinate
  • workflow and procedures between HR and Payroll
  • Review and verify payroll data in a timely manner, calculate overtime and other pay
  • premiums, and enter payroll data
  • Prepare manual checks as necessary
  • Oversee maintenance of payroll records and files
  • Respond to routine inquiries concerning payroll deductions and accruals, wage
  • garnishments, child support payments, and employment verifications
  • Reconcile all payroll-related accounts and activities
  • Apply for and maintain payroll tax account information, including but not limited to state
  • withholding and unemployment
  • Assist with the development and implementation of payroll practices, policies, and
  • procedures
  • Process accurate and timely year-end reporting as necessary (W-2, W-2C, 1099-MISCs)
  • Administer and maintain an electronic timekeeping system
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management

What is required:

  • Must be eligible for employment within the United States
  • Must live or reside in the San Francisco Bay area; this is an in-office position
  • Must be able to pass an extensive background check and drug screening
  • 2-5 years in an equivalent role
  • Good understanding of the common fiscal procedures
  • Exceptional multitasking and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and G Suite applications
  • Strong knowledge of tax and wage laws
  • Able to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency with timekeeping systems or software to pull payroll reports and data

What is desired:

  • Spanish speaking proficiency
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in business or accounting preferred
  • 2-5 years of proven experience in a payroll position in a fast-paced environment
