Company:

As one of the largest MEP design-build firms in the U.S., we deliver fully integrated building solutions through a unified team of engineers, constructors, and service professionals. We focus on the entire building lifecycle—design, construction, operations, and energy performance—across diverse markets such as healthcare, data centers, commercial, transportation, and education.

Position Summary:

The Project Executive is a senior leader responsible for the planning, direction, execution, and financial outcome of large-scale construction projects. This individual will oversee multiple projects or a large program, ensuring alignment with business goals, client satisfaction, operational efficiency, and team development. As a key leader, you'll act as the face to clients, partners, and internal teams.

Responsibilities:

Project Oversight & Leadership

  • Provide executive-level oversight on multiple large-scale design-build MEP projects, including multi-phase and mission-critical projects ($25M to $200M+).
  • Guide all phases of the project lifecycle: business development handoff, preconstruction, design coordination, procurement, construction execution, commissioning, and close-out.
  • Drive accountability among Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure scope, schedule, and budget are met or exceeded.

Client & Partner Engagement

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for senior-level client representatives and owners.
  • Build and sustain long-term client relationships through trust, communication, and performance.
  • Lead client-facing meetings, presentations, project reviews, and value-engineering discussions.
  • Manage third-party partners such as architects, consultants, and general contractors to maintain alignment and resolve issues.

Financial & Contract Management

  • Own project financial performance, including P&L, forecasting, cost control, billing, change orders, and earned revenue.
  • Evaluate and mitigate financial and operational risks across all active projects.
  • Lead negotiation and administration of all major contracts and subcontracts in collaboration with legal and procurement teams.
  • Implement financial reporting standards and oversee monthly project reviews with internal leadership.

Team & Talent Development

  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate a team of project managers, engineers, field leaders, and support staff.
  • Participate in workforce planning and resource allocation across multiple jobs.
  • Champion staff development through coaching, performance feedback, and advancement opportunities.
  • Promote a culture of ownership, accountability, and excellence across all project teams.

Preconstruction & Design Coordination

  • Collaborate with estimating, virtual design, and engineering teams during preconstruction to shape project delivery strategies.
  • Review and approve project budgets, bid packages, buyout plans, and constructability reviews.
  • Ensure alignment of the design intent with project goals through coordination of BIM/VDC, shop drawings, and prefabrication.

Field Execution & Quality Control

  • Monitor field operations to ensure safety, quality, schedule adherence, and productivity.
  • Oversee major field mobilization efforts, logistics planning, and subcontractor management strategies.
  • Support Superintendents in resolving technical, manpower, or material-related challenges.
  • Maintain consistent site presence and executive visibility to reinforce team support and stakeholder confidence.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Promote lean construction principles and integrated delivery model.
  • Drive adoption of new technologies, prefabrication strategies, and sustainability practices.
  • Lead lessons-learned sessions, post-mortems, and continuous improvement initiatives across the business unit.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree or MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum 12–15 years of progressive construction experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management or project executive role overseeing large-scale MEP or integrated design-build projects.
  • Deep knowledge of MEP systems and construction sequencing
  • Proficient in Procore, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, BIM 360, and cost tracking tools
  • Familiarity with design-build, integrated project delivery (IPD), and lean construction practices
