The duties of the Accounting Assistant include maintaining the accounts payable system, assuring vendors are current and discounts are taken, entering coded financial transactions into our accounting software platform, reconciling invoices, and preparing check runs on a weekly, or as needed, basis. Additional duties include assisting in Workday with expense reimbursement approvals as well as time approvals and payroll processes.
This position is hybrid, with both remote and office work.
Essential Functions of the Job: [Other duties may be assigned.]
- Enters prior approved invoices into accounting software
- Manage expense reports and reimbursements.
- Provide support to the finance team and other departments
- Assist in month end closing and reconciliations of AP accounts
- Review Invoices to ensure proper documentation and necessary approvals
- Supports payroll and banking processes
- Continuously assess responsibilities for opportunities for improvement
- Produces reports for monthly and audit as needed by direction of Finance Manager
Qualifications and Education Requirements: Education and/or Experience: Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college; or six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Skills: Attention to detail, quick learner, desire to continuously improve, strong knowledge and working ability with accounting, payroll and office programs, Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Experience with Systems, Computer Applications/Software: Microsoft office, Excel and Workday experience preferred.
