Description
Crown Point Press, founded in 1962, focuses on the art of etching. We invite artists to make etchings in our studio, which we exhibit and sell in our gallery, online, and at art fairs. Our gallery, bookstore, and studio are located in a historic building across the street from the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
Crown Point seeks a highly motivated, organized, and collaborative individual with proven sales experience. The position is full-time (non-exempt) and the hours are Monday-Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, with occasional overtime required during art fairs and at special events. Qualifications for the position include: a genuine interest in contemporary art and printmaking, three or more years of experience interacting with clients and making sales, and holding a BA degree or higher in art or art history. Familiarity with Artsystems is a plus, and knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite is required.
Responsibilities include: assist the executive director with current clients and developing new client relationships; develop a marketing plan to reach new client groups; generate and maintain a news media list; create social media posts on Instagram; make sales in the gallery and at art fairs; greet visitors to the gallery and give tours of the press; write press releases, web text, marketing copy, email blast and biographical summaries; assist with gallery exhibitions, installation, and art fair presentations; create social events with the executive director.
