Head of Engineering - AI Scale Up - San Francisco ($225K - $275K)

Join a mission-driven startup building the Integration Platform for the Internet.

As Head of Engineering, you'll play a critical role in shaping the technical direction, team culture, and product execution during an exciting period of growth. You'll work closely with the founder and product lead, combining strategic leadership with hands on development.

Engineering Excellence & Execution

• Drive engineering reliability and code quality using well defined KPIs and continuous improvement practices
• Own and guide technical architecture decisions and implementation strategies
• Establish scalable processes for testing, deployment, monitoring, and incident response across mission-critical systems
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation and foster strong communication standards within the team
• Design and lead the engineering hiring process, including candidate sourcing and strategy
• Build a strong, team culture rooted in ownership and technical excellence
• Set expectations, define accountability structures, and foster a culture of continuous learning and feedback
• Mentor and grow engineers through regular 1:1s and career development planning

Strategic & Cross-Functional Leadership

• Collaborate with the founder and product lead on overall product direction and technical vision
• Make decisions on tools, frameworks, and infrastructure to support our roadmap
• Work cross functionally with design, product, and users to deliver high-impact solutions
• Balance near term priorities with long term scalability and maintainability
