The Corporate Giving Officer is responsible for managing a portfolio of approximately 65 corporate prospects and donors contributing $600,000 annually and supporting the organization's efforts to raise approximately $1.6 million annually from corporate and foundation funders.

Description

Reporting to the Director of Strategic Initiatives & Institutional Giving, this position collaborates with the larger Development team, as well as departments and program leaders from across the organization. It involves engaging corporate prospects and donors, cultivating relationships leading to commitments of $5,000+ and increasing corporate engagement in sponsorships, employee volunteering, employee giving, and strategic partnerships. The officer will identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors and prospects, manage initiatives related to corporate engagement, and work closely with other teams to increase corporate giving. A passion for animals and animal welfare is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 65 corporate funders and partners, focusing on cultivating their giving and engagement through sponsorships, departmental giving, employee engagement, in-kind donations, cause marketing, strategic partnerships, and pro bono work.
  • Act as the lead fundraiser driving revenue from corporate funders, with an anticipated contribution of at least $600,000 as of FY26, with potential for increased giving.
  • Develop and implement a corporate giving strategy including cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Manage the Corporate Leadership Council (CLC), supporting member recruitment, meeting scheduling, agenda setting, and fundraising strategies.
  • Identify and cultivate prospective corporate funders, including new and lapsed donors.
  • Coordinate employee engagement events, manage communications, and oversee event execution.
  • Support corporate sponsor benefits fulfillment for key events.
  • Prepare compelling proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports to funders and prospects.

Current Tasks

Internal Partnerships

  • Collaborate across the Development team on strategies supporting events, annual fund, foundation relations, and communications.
  • Partner with the Annual Fund team to maximize corporate matching gift opportunities.
  • Work with the Development Operations team to manage pipelines and track funding progress.
  • Partner with Community Engagement to facilitate volunteer days and team-building activities.
  • Coordinate with Marketing and Communications to recognize corporate partners.

Donor Stewardship & Engagement

  • Prepare briefing materials for meetings with corporate partners.
  • Engage leadership and staff in donor cultivation and stewardship.
  • Cultivate and steward corporate donors through volunteer opportunities, site visits, events, and tailored experiences.
  • Represent the SF SPCA at community and industry events.

General

  • Develop understanding of SF SPCA's programs and communicate impact.
  • Monitor business trends and identify new prospects.
  • Maintain accurate records in Raiser's Edge.
  • Support grant writing and tracking systems.
  • Contribute to other fundraising efforts as part of the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 5 years of front-line fundraising experience.
  • Experience in corporate sponsorships/partnerships in a nonprofit setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly organized with ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Experience in donor relations and external-facing roles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and donor management software (preferably Raiser's Edge).

Salary and Benefits

Salary range: $105,000 - $115,000, depending on experience.
