YC-backed AI Startup | Agentic Systems & LLMs | $150K-$250K + Equity

Our client is a YC-backed healthcare AI startup founded by a technical team from Stanford. They're building voice and text-based agentic systems already being used in real-world clinical environments - and they're now hiring a Founding AI Engineer to scale that vision.

You'll work directly with the founders to design, build, and deploy intelligent agents powered by LLMs. This is a high-ownership, high-impact role where you'll shape both product and technical direction from the ground up.

What you'll do:

• Build production-grade agentic systems powered by LLMs
• Prototype and ship using frameworks like LangChain/LangGraph
• Work across voice and text modalities to create seamless AI interactions
• Design intelligent tools that integrate with complex healthcare systems
• Help steer technical decisions across infrastructure and product

About you:

• 3-5 years of experience building AI or ML products - or exceptional academic/project work
• Hands-on experience with conversational AI, LLMs, and agentic architectures
• Proficient in TypeScript or Python (or confident switching between them)
• Bonus: experience in healthcare AI, regulatory environments, or voice interfaces
• Startup mindset: proactive, creative, and thrives in high-velocity teams

Location & Compensation:

• SF preferred (in-person collaboration with founding team)
• Equity: 0.5%-2% depending on experience and fit
