Starting from a single restaurant with a vision to bring Burmese/Southeast Asian cuisine to the world, we have grown into a family of restaurants, a non-profit organization, a retail line, and more.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced General Manager to lead operations at one of our Southeast Asian restaurants located in the vibrant city center. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of managerial experience in the restaurant industry, with a passion for creating a warm, approachable atmosphere and delivering an unparalleled dining experience that showcases Southeast Asian cuisine.

As the General Manager, you will oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, including staff management, financial performance, and compliance with health and safety regulations. Your primary goal will be to drive revenue growth, uphold high-quality standards, and foster a positive environment for guests and team members alike.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Oversee daily restaurant operations ensuring an excellent guest experience
  • Lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team, including hiring, training, and scheduling
  • Maintain food quality and service standards for consistency
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships for efficient supply chain management
  • Drive profitability by analyzing financial reports, managing budgets, and controlling costs
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and kitchen team on menu development
  • Build strong relationships with customers and the local community to promote loyalty
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and labor regulations
  • Implement marketing strategies, organize special events, and increase restaurant visibility
  • Experience with high-volume restaurants generating over $5 million in sales
  • Understanding of busy environments such as conventions, large parties, and tourism

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all Front-of-House activities to enhance guest experience
  • Train, mentor, and lead staff including waitstaff, hosts, bussers, and bartenders
  • Manage reservations, seating, and customer flow for optimal efficiency
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of dining areas for a welcoming environment
  • Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally
  • Coordinate with the Assistant General Manager on scheduling, deposits, inventory, and payroll
  • Monitor and approve all voids and discounts
  • Manage opening and closing duties as needed
  • Ensure restaurant readiness at each shift start
  • This position reports to the Vice President of Restaurant Operations

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: $110,000 - 120,000 (DOE)
  • Performance bonuses up to 15-25% based on restaurant performance
