The Role

Infrastructure is our core at Alchemy. As a backend systems engineer, you'll work with one of the most sophisticated distributed systems in blockchain, focusing on architecting and improving systems supporting millions of users globally.

What You'll Do

• Define the vision for backend infrastructure supporting our developer platform and APIs, guiding the team to execute this vision.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable infrastructure, APIs, and services.
• Lead system design discussions, code reviews, and team collaboration.
• Develop best practices for backend infrastructure emphasizing high throughput, reliability, and low latency.
• Debug production issues across services and stack levels.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers.

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
• BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining core backend components, with API platforms a plus.
• Proven ability to solve complex design and performance problems in high-throughput, low-latency systems.
• Production experience with Java, Golang, or C++.
• Experience with Cloud Native environments, especially AWS.
• Experience with managed Kubernetes like AWS EKS is a plus.
• Self-starter with autonomous execution ability.
• Balance between perfection and shipping speed.
• Curiosity about crypto, AI, and understanding black boxes.

Additional Information

We offer competitive compensation including base salary and equity, plus medical, dental, vision, 401k, and unlimited flexible time off. The salary range is $135,000 - $300,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
