Compensation: $68,640 - $85,000 per year

Position Overview

The Teen Clubhouse Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and programming of the Teen Clubhouse, ensuring a focus on safety, outcome-driven services, effective staff supervision, and strong partnership management. This role requires dynamic leadership to create a positive, inspiring, and growth-oriented environment for teens, staff, and families.

Reporting to the Chief Programs Officer, the Teen Clubhouse Program Manager plays a key role in implementing BGCSL's strategic objectives. This includes managing program delivery, assessing outcomes, and fostering strong relationships with external stakeholders. The Teen Clubhouse Program Manager will lead the team in executing high-quality programs that prepare teens for success while maintaining a safe and supportive atmosphere.

Essential Functions

Leadership & Strategic Planning:

• Direct Teen Clubhouse programs, activities, and services to empower teens for success and cultivate an outcome-driven atmosphere.
• Supervise daily Teen Clubhouse operations, ensuring alignment with funding source standards and upholding safety protocols.
• Strategize, implement, and assess comprehensive programs, staff, and services to fulfill grant requirements and address member needs.
• Generate monthly reports, leverage CRM (Salesforce) data, and conduct site observations to evaluate program efficacy and propose enhancements.
  
  

Staff Management & Professional Conduct

• Recruit, develop, and assess staff to ensure high-quality teen programming, and reinforce organizational values within the Teen Clubhouse, fostering a strong and positive culture
• Attending and supporting organizational events, maintain professionalism, and communicate effectively with leadership regarding any challenges or issues.
  
  

Resource Management & Partnership Development

• Manage the Teen Clubhouse operations within the approved budget, in collaboration with the Director of Safety, control expenditures, collaborate on grant writing and ensure safety and cleanliness.
  
  

Relationships

• Maintain close contact with teen club members and external stakeholders, including high school administrators, parents, and community groups, to foster effective partnerships and collaboration.

Required

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Education, Social Work, Public Administration, Youth Development, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in youth development, out-of-school-time programming, or related nonprofit leadership roles.
• At least 2 years of staff supervision experience, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
• Demonstrated success managing teen-focused programs with measurable outcomes.
• Strong knowledge of trauma-informed practices, youth engagement strategies, and culturally relevant programming.
• Experience working with school districts, local government agencies, and/or community-based organizations.
• Familiarity with budgeting, grant compliance, and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, CitySpan).
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• First Aid/CPR certification within 90 days of employment.
• Commitment to the entire academic school year, including training dates, and availability for Teen Clubhouse closeout operations.
• Must be at least 24yrs old.
  
  

Preferred

• Experience with an inner-city community-based organization.
• Thorough understanding of nonprofits and specifically youth development organizations, including an understanding of inherent risks and best practices for risk management, strongly preferred.
• Master's Degree in a related field.
• Bilingual (Spanish, Mandarin, or another language widely spoken in the San Leandro area).
• Experience with Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) programs and tools.
• Certification or formal training in youth development, DEI practices, or restorative justice.
  
  

Work Environment

This position will work primarily in a Clubhouse environment at the Boys & Girls Club of San Leandro. This role may occasionally require flexibility to accommodate organizational events or deadlines. Key aspects of the work environment include:

• Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.
• Continually required to talk or hear.
• Occasionally exposure to outside weather conditions.
• Occasionally exposure to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials (Communicable diseases in an office environment including COVID-19, common cold, and flu viruses. Negative TB screen required).
• While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment may vary, light to moderate.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
• This position is primarily in-office with rare availability to work remote.
