Overview

Woolpert is seeking a Bridge Engineer (PE) to join our growing infrastructure team. This is a great opportunity to be part of some exciting and high-profile projects. As a bridge engineer, you will be involved in leading the design for diverse transportation projects spanning multiple locations, clients, and sizes. Our transportation team works on bridge and roadway projects of various types and complexities, retaining walls, and culverts as well as many other unique experiences including pedestrian timber suspension bridges and covered bridge rehabilitations.

As a member of this company and multi-discipline team, you will be exposed to industry-leading professionals from whom to learn and work alongside, while also being given the opportunity to mentor less experienced staff looking to advance in the field of engineering. The position can be in any of our Ohio offices and a hybrid work environment is offered.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a diverse team of Licensed Professionals and Junior Engineers to complete bridge and other transportation tasks.
  • Lead design for various aspects of bridge, wall, and culvert design.
  • Prepare project analyses, structure type studies, construction plans, and reports related to infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and application of engineering principles and ability to complete design and analysis calculations.
  • Perform hydraulic studies in relation to bridge design development.
  • Build engineering estimates.
  • Provide mentorship to junior level staff.

Qualifications

  • ABET Accredited Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 4 - 8 years of professional experience with an understanding of bridge design and engineering principles.
  • Ohio PE License or ability to obtain.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and report writing ability.
  • Ability to work in AutoCAD Civil3D or Bentley MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer.
  • Experience with the following:
    • Bridge analysis software (OpenBridge Designer, finite element modeling, line girder analysis)
    • Plan development for transportation projects
    • Strong knowledge of Ohio DOT and AASHTO design standards

USD $71,600.00 - USD $124,800.00 /Yr.
