JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage, and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders, and customized management services.

Responsible for facilitating the movement of products/equipment/materials out of the country via air freight, in accordance with organizational policies and procedures, and in compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Provide customer service to exporting customers, including bookings, rates, document production, accounting, agent interaction, and problem resolution.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Prepare and coordinate necessary documentation for efficient, cost-effective, and lawful execution of all air export activities.
2. Coordinate cargo pickup/transfer and monitor shipment status.
3. Communicate with export authorities, customers, and suppliers across relevant territories to ensure efficient and lawful operations.
4. Manage and update carrier/vendor rates; obtain spot rates as needed.
5. Correspond with overseas agents and clients regarding pre-alerts, rate requests, and shipment status.
6. Track shipments and update customers and agents on status.
7. Create and maintain customer files.
8. Handle customer invoicing and payable approvals.
9. Audit files for accuracy and completeness.
10. Interact professionally and courteously with coworkers.
11. Complete US Customs AES filings.
12. Manage JAS operational and customer KPIs.
13. Assist other departments/divisions as needed or when requested by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2-5 years' experience handling air export shipments or equivalent education and expertise.
• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Detail-oriented with ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Self-motivated, capable of working independently and in a team.
• Knowledge of customs laws, practices, and procedures.
• Ability to perform duties safely without posing health or safety risks.
• Positive and effective interaction with colleagues and supervisors.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Additional language skills are a plus.
• Preferred: geographical knowledge, Cargowise (C1) experience, freight forwarding industry experience, US export compliance knowledge.
