About the Role: Quality Engineer III

We're looking for a Quality Engineer III to join our Randtron team in San Leandro, CA. In this role, you'll support mission-critical programs by owning all aspects of quality—from internal performance metrics to customer interfacing and supplier support. What You'll Do:

  • Lead quality efforts for assigned programs, ensuring alignment with performance objectives and customer expectations
  • Serve as the primary QA interface across engineering, production, purchasing, and suppliers
  • Support non-conforming material processes, including DMR review, MRB activity, and root cause analysis
  • Perform drawing control and configuration change board (CCB) reviews, including customer notification
  • Review and approve final test data packages to verify product performance before shipment
  • Analyze manufacturing performance trends and provide actionable insights to management
  • Conduct internal and supplier audits to ensure ISO/AS9100 compliance
  • Collaborate on corrective/preventive actions across customers, internal teams, and suppliers
  • Mentor and support training of team members in QA processes and tools
  • Participate in technical meetings and present quality-related updates

What You Bring:

  • BS or MS in Engineering/Technical field with 8+ years of QA experience
  • – OR – 10–12 years of senior-level, hands-on Quality Engineering experience in lieu of a degree
  • Experience working directly with customers, including DCMA or other government agencies
  • Familiarity with electromechanical systems, test and evaluation, and design phase activities
  • Strong knowledge of quality standards (e.g., ISO/AS9100, Six Sigma, SPC)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CMM software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • U.S. citizenship required (ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance
  • Willingness to work varied shifts, overtime, and occasional travel

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to perform light physical activities such as bending, kneeling, or lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Exposure to mechanical parts, occasional fumes, and industrial noise (PPE provided)
  • May need to navigate different work areas across the facility
  • Must meet vision requirements to work with small components and perform inspections
