Description:

Shaw Bakers is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to join our South San Francisco facility.


The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations within our facility, ensuring that equipment and robotics are maintained to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in maintenance management, with a particular focus on building and implementing preventive maintenance programs and the rigorous management of spare parts.


What You'll Do

  • Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for all bakery equipment and robotics, aiming to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of machinery.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify and address maintenance needs proactively.
  • Manage the inventory of spare parts, including ordering, stocking, and organizing parts to ensure availability and minimize production disruptions.
  • Work closely with the production team to coordinate maintenance activities and schedule repairs during off-peak hours to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Lead, train, and supervise the maintenance team, fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest maintenance practices, technologies, and regulations related to the bakery industry.
  • Develop and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective maintenance operations.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for specialized maintenance tasks and equipment purchases.
  • Implement safety and sanitation standards in all maintenance activities to comply with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on maintenance activities, equipment status, and improvement plans to senior management.


Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field or comparable experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance management, preferably in a manufacturing environment with high-value equipment and automation.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful preventive maintenance programs.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, including robotics used in the baking or food production industry.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing maintenance team.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in the food manufacturing industry.
