They're building intelligent tools that help companies manage modern, hybrid workforces using cutting-edge AI and real-time insights. With a fast-growing team and big plans ahead, they're looking for ahands-on Director of Engineeringto join them at the ground floor of something game-changing.


? The Role

They're not looking for a “just delegate and dashboard” kind of leader. This is a roll-up-your-sleeves, 80/20 role where you'll spendmost of your time deep in the tech-building, reviewing, architecting, and scaling systems. The other 20%? Leading and mentoring a small, talented team of engineers as they continue to scale.

?️ What You'll Be Doing


? Technical (80%)

  • Design and review architecture for scalable, fault-tolerant systems
  • Write and review code in Ruby, Python, or TypeScript (pick your flavor)
  • Optimize performance, latency, and throughput across platforms
  • Build and maintain robust data pipelines and distributed systems
  • Champion clean code, testing, documentation, and dev excellence
  • Help define monitoring, alerting, and automation best practices
  • Guide incident response and lead from the front during critical moments

? Leadership (20%)

  • Mentor and grow a team of 7–15 sharp engineers
  • Set direction during sprint planning and agile ceremonies
  • Oversee reliability, testing, and quality assurance processes
  • Align engineering efforts with business strategy
  • Foster a culture of curiosity, feedback, and continuous learning


? What We're Looking For

  • 7–12 years of experience building and scaling complex software
  • Prior experience mentoring or managing small engineering teams
  • Experience working on distributed systems and data-heavy products
  • SaaS background? Huge plus
  • Solid with at least one of: Ruby, Python, TypeScript
  • Deep respect for clean code, reliability, and thoughtful engineering
  • Someone teammates always wanted on their projects
