Description:

Design Engineer - Thermal Systems - Propulsion

Are you a design engineer with strong experience of leading the design development and validation of thermal management systems such as coolant/oil loops, heat exchangers, valves, pumps, regulators?

Would you like make an impact on a clean-sheet aircraft propulsion program, designing and delivering novel hardware?

You will get the opportunity to further your skills

  • Architecting and designing thermal systems from scratch, such as coolant loops or oil curcuits, heat exchangers, valves, pumps, regulators.
  • Generate CAD models and detailed drawings with GD&T (Siemens NX preferred).
  • Develop 1D fluid network models and use hand calcs and CFD to predict transient behaviour, sensitivities, and performance.
  • Analyze thermal interfaces, conduction paths, and heat loads, and define instrumentation strategies to validate models.
  • Build prototypes, write test plans, run experiments, and anchor models with real data.
  • Drive design reviews and own technical decision-making from prototype through flight qualification.

You will need to have

  • 5–15 years of experience in thermal and fluid systems—preferably in aerospace / space propulsion, automotive, or similar complex environments.
  • A mechanical design engineer with a thermal bias—someone who's built hardware, not just simulated it.
  • Proficient in CAD (ideally Siemens NX), drawing creation, and 1D/0D system modelling.
  • You've owned full systems: from blank sheet to assembly, integration, and test.
  • Comfortable in fast-moving, high-accountability teams where design ownership means end-to-end responsibility.
  • Bonus points if you've worked within a high technology start up environment where you have tested early, iterated fast and made decision.

You'll get

  • Competitive salary + transparent stock option plan
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision coverage + FSA
  • 401(k) program
  • Flexible PTO, paid holidays, and sick time
