The Opportunity:

Position: Director, Brand Relations

Location: Field Support Center (FSC), San Francisco

Inventory Management:

Planning, forecasting and allocating product are the crucial first steps in the product's journey to our clients. It takes analytical, strategic, and results-oriented inventory management professionals to build our brand partnerships, forecast client behaviors and optimize inventory levels across our network. Operations and logistics complete the products' journey into our clients' hands. Our energetic and innovative Brand Relations Team continually improves speed and accuracy on our promise to our clients in a fast growing and ever-evolving marketplace. Your role at Sephora:
Reporting to the SVP, Inventory Management, the Director of Brand Relations leads initiatives to maximize brand performance in alignment with Sephora's organizational objectives, serving as the primary liaison between our Distribution Centers and key brand partners. This role collaborates with internal stakeholders and brands to drive sales, optimize inventory management, and ensure operational efficiency. The candidate selected for this role will lead a small team that tracks brand performance, incentivizing optimal in-stock levels through fill rate adherence, and promoting standardization across brand operations.

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key brand stakeholders, including onboarding new brands and ensuring compliance with Sephora's inventory processes and standards. Provide training and guidance to vendors and internal teams on compliance requirements, best practices, and performance expectations. Develop and deliver compliance training programs and materials.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Inventory Management, Logistics, Merchandising, and Finance, to ensure alignment on vendor management and compliance objectives. Communicate compliance expectations and requirements to vendors and internal stakeholders. Foster strong relationships with vendors to ensure open communication and collaboration.
  • Develop and implement strategies for managing reverse logistics for product end-of life process, ensuring compliance with vendor agreements and company policies. Coordinate with brands to facilitate the efficient and cost-effective disposition of off-assortment products and aged inventory.
  • Establish and maintain vendor compliance standards and guidelines, including Brand Relations Handbook. Monitor vendor activities to ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular audits and assessments of vendor compliance.
  • Manage chargeback program to ensure vendors adhere to contractual obligations and performance standards. Implement and enforce chargeback policies and procedures, including the assessment and collection of penalties for non-compliance. Collaborate with vendors to address and resolve chargeback issues, providing guidance on corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Monitor and report on chargeback activities, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain compliance metrics and reporting systems to track vendor performance and compliance. Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on vendor performance, compliance status, and risk management activities.
  • Mostly sedentary work with occasional need to move about the office to attend virtual meetings and interact with colleagues in-person.
  • Standard home and office environment with minimal exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to meet deadlines or address critical performance issues. On-call duties may be necessary for urgent troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Limited travel may be required by senior leadership.

We're excited about you if you have:

  • 15+ years of experience in supply chain management, with a strong focus on inventory management (planning/allocation), ideally within a retail organization E-Commerce and/or Direct-to-Consumer experience highly preferred
  • Ability to lead and manage teams, with a strong bias for action and a track record of implementing tools, systems, and processes that drive growth and efficiency.
  • High level of initiative
  • High-level problem solving and analytical skills with good judgement
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively in a fast-paced and complex environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication skills, oral and written, with comfort presenting and delivering to leadership
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

The annual base salary range for this position is $174,675.00- $195,225.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant's qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
