Ad Policy Manager, Advertising Trust Policy

As part of Advertising Trust's Policy & Integrity team, you will have high visibility across Amazon business lines, establishing the right customer experience and long-term strategy for the success of Amazon Advertising. We are a global and diverse team with a long tenure in online advertising, expertise in developing customer experience solutions for highly complex situations, risk mitigation, and brand integrity. Key job responsibilities

1. Policy creation and management from rationale to policy language to communication to technical implementation to ongoing monitoring through data.
2. Clearly communicate risks, including through high quality written presentations, behind policies to internal stakeholder teams to support understanding and consensus of policy positions.
3. Work with product teams by creating business requirement documents to ensure policy compliance for developing ad products.
4. Build collaborative relationships across other policy teams within the Ad Trust Policy team, across Ads Trust, the Sales organization, Legal, PR, Public Policy and other business units outside of Ads as necessary to support policy management.
5. Occasionally support high-risk and high-impact escalations in partnership with moderation and tiered support teams.
6. Build an understanding of how ad tech systems generally function and how Amazon's functions to inform policy work.

A day in the life

In a typical day a Policy Manager will monitor policies for accuracy and fit using a variety of signals and may handle escalated questions related to compliance with our ad policies in categories. They will develop knowledge in locale specific requirements and make decisions that consider cultural and societal norms. They will build policy recommendations based on assessing risk across multiple risk vectors. They work with product teams to understand the intersection of policy and product to solve for risks in the most efficient ways. They will partner with internal publishers and external supply partners. They will identify areas for collaboration, resource sharing and escalation management coordination between multiple teams across Amazon that work in the same space, in order to bring consistency to our advertisers and shoppers.

About the team

The Ad policy team owns global ad policies across all Ad products and Amazon Publishers. This dynamic team is an integral part of how we support Amazon Advertising and as such has touch points across multiple areas of our business. We make a customer impact with every ad we serve and pride ourselves on doing so with a customer centric focus.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

1. A awareness of current and emerging events that impact policy positions.
2. 3+ years' experience in ad tech, product policy, advertising policy or related roles with a policy focus.
3. Experience effective collaborating with Public Relations, Legal, and Public Policy teams.
4. Ability to work effectively with cross functional groups within a matrixed organization.
5. Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior management.
6. Excellent communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills that enable you to earn trust at all levels, including leadership.
7. Ability to find data to make complex decisions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Master's degree, law degree, or MBA.
2. Proven experience owning and managing large scale policy changes.
3. Proven experience working with metrics and data analysis.
4. Proven experience working on digital advertising in policy, compliance, legal.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
