Automation Engineer

Location: Hercules, CA

Job Summary:

The Automation Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automated solutions for Bio-Rad's manufacturing processes. This role will collaborate with engineers, scientists, and manufacturing personnel to identify automation opportunities, develop and validate automated systems, and ensure their smooth operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Identify and evaluate automation opportunities within Bio-Rad's manufacturing processes.
  2. Design and develop automated solutions using robotics, machine vision, and software technologies.
  3. Validate and test automated systems to meet performance and quality standards.
  4. Implement and deploy automated systems in production environments.
  5. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with automated systems.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate automation into existing processes.
  7. Stay updated on the latest automation technologies and trends.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in automation engineering within manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of robotics, machine vision, and software development.
  • Experience with project management and system validation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
