Our Ad Platforms team focuses on Disney's leading ad technology and products, leveraging AI and data science to transform advertising. We build solutions to measure and optimize the advertising lifecycle, delivering end-to-end machine learning and data science solutions.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Principal Machine Learning Engineer to lead development of prediction and optimization engines for addressable ad platforms. The ideal candidate will have experience in implementing machine learning technologies or data-driven algorithms, with a proactive, inquisitive, and innovative mindset.

What You'll Do

  1. Drive design and implementation of LLM and GenAI applications.
  2. Provide Prompt Engineering support to various teams.
  3. Innovate using state-of-the-art AI/ML techniques to improve advertising metrics like inventory forecasting, ad experience, pacing, pricing, targeting, and delivery.
  4. Develop novel solutions for complex ad challenges with quick turnaround.
  5. Lead architecture design and iterative improvement of advertising algorithms.
  6. Create scalable data analysis and model development approaches.
  7. Build and experiment with algorithms and models from development to deployment and optimization.
  8. Collaborate across engineering, product, and program teams in a creative environment.
  9. Mentor team members and support their growth.

What to Bring

  1. Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
  2. Minimum 10 years of experience in large-scale machine learning, preferably in advertising or forecasting algorithms.
  3. Strong knowledge of AI/ML, mathematics, and statistics.
  4. Leadership ability to manage cross-functional projects.
  5. Passion for understanding ad business and applying research to improve it.
  6. Enthusiasm for technology and building data-driven services.
  7. Proven success in fast-paced, collaborative, data-driven environments.

Nice-to-Haves

  1. MS or PhD in computer science or related field.
  2. Experience with AWS Bedrock, OpenAI on Azure, or similar platforms.
  3. Experience in digital video advertising or marketing.
  4. Familiarity with TensorFlow, Kubeflow, or Sagemaker.

Additional Information

#DISNEYTECH

Salary range in SF: $222,200 - $297,900; in Seattle: $212,600 - $285,100. Compensation includes base salary, bonus, incentives, and benefits, depending on experience and location.
